Yes, the Towpath Half Marathon allows walkers.
Half marathon course walkers will begin one hour earlier – start at 7:00 am – they will meet at the park located on E. 49th St. south of Grant Ave.
5-mile course walkers will begin race at 7:30 am, from the 5-mile start.
3-mile course walkers will begin race at 7:45 am.

All Runners – look for Parking Signs to indicate lots. They are yellow with red letters.
Half Marathon Runners:
Runners will park in lots adjacent to East 49 Street. Lots will be marked with signs indicating “Parking” – runners will shuttled back to their cars after the race – you can catch shuttle at Post Race Party – Iron City Café – located at the intersection of Jennings Rd. and Harvard Ave. starting at 9:00 am.
Alcoa is providing a parking lot located on Harvard Avenue. Early birds (6 am – 7am) + (limit 100) can park at the Alcoa Lot located east along Harvard – directly across from the Speedway (South side of road). Look for Towpath Parking signs. Shuttle buses can transport you from park lot to start. They will also take you back following the race – go to Post Party area for shuttles – Iron City Café. Shuttles will run starting at 9 am.

Yes, for the most part. The course does include 2 bridges over Granger and Warner Roads, the incline for each meets ADA standards of 5%. The Half Marathon runners will cross the bridges twice – once on the run south, the other returning north. There is a short hill to climb to the Finish Line.
The surface of the Towpath Trail in this Cleveland Metroparks section is asphalt.
Yes, for the 5 Miler, we will close lower Harvard Avenue between Jennings Road and upper Harvard Avenue for the race – from 7:45 am – 8:10 am.
For the Half Marathon and 3 Miler, the driveway for the Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation will be closed from 7:45 – 8:15 am to accommodate the start of the Half Marathon and 3 Miler.

5–Miler: 5 Aid Stations and 2 portolets
3-Miler: 2 Aid Stations and 2 portalets
Yes. The half marathon miles are marked with yellow signs and red numbers. The 5–Miler will be marked with white signs with green letters. The 3Miler will be marked with white signs and black letters.
Yes, at the Towpath Half Marathon there are restrooms-
Half Marathon – 8 restrooms on the course + start and finish
5-Miler – 5 restrooms on the course + start and finish
3-Miler – 2 restrooms on the course
Yes. The Half Marathoners and 3-Milers will be shuttled from the Finish Line area at lower Harvard/ Jennings Road to their cars parked on E. 49th St. near Grant Ave.
Busses will begin the shuttle service at 9am.
Good places for spectators at the Towpath Half Marathon are:
The Half Marathon Starting Line, park in the lots on East 49 Street.
The Towpath Trail below the Cleveland Metroparks Canalway Center, park in the visitor parking lot by the Canalway Center, note the drive will be closed until after the start of Half Marathon/ 3-Miler plan to arrive after 8:30 am. From this vantage, you will see runners twice – miles 6 and 11 of the Half Marathon and mile 2.5 for the 5 Miler.
Valley View along the Towpath Trail, park in the lot between Warner and Granger Roads
